Eyes Of Such Blue

Charles Macfarlane

Eyes of such blue
Sparkle like china
With cobalted hues, lapis lazuli too.

Eyes of such blue
Steal their beauty
From sea and from sky as the glaciers do.

Eyes of such blue
Seem as far distant
As Earth in its rising seen from the Moon.

Eyes of such blue
Reflect only heaven
And bury dull worldliness deep beyond view.

Eyes of such blue
Lose a man reason
And make him forget every creed he holds true.
